News

Well Finally decided to get a subscription.
With the amount of time I end up spending here it seems like a good idea.

Will be adding some large pieces soon, I don't have a great deal of time between Lightwyrm and RiSE.

Life is good though, will do a feature soon now that I can work with the journal CSS.

This CSS is just a quick thing I cooked up in an hour, might change in the future when I have some time to spend. The Wyrm Neck is taken from a background image on the Lightwyrm site, that image was done by: ~mythrilgolem1

Anyway, tell me what you think about the css, and don't forget to check out RiSE Gaming Beta

Check out more at this [link]

No this is not some spam post :D

In other news, although its been a bit more than 'next week' Lightwyrm is getting done quickly. Lots of things that I have not anticipated. But at the same time a lot of stuff that is new and I think handy.

Cant wait to show you the awesomeness of Lightwyrm!

I am also thinking of getting a DA subscription. Is it worth it?

Lightwyrm will be starting in hopefully less than a week.
Here are some of my friends that are involved in the project. All of whom are much better artists than myself.

Soon the real fun begins. I hope to see you all in the community once I launch it as there will be many contests and even free one on one teaching sessions. Its a good place to be if you are serious about art.

I will post the next entry when I have everything in order for the launch.

Back again.

Saw the new DA layout and finally decided to take advantage of some of the minor but still existing customization features available for non subscribers. I am pretty happy with the way that my profile page now looks.

Finally finished my homepage using Joomla. The skin is made by me, I know it looks rather simplistic but that is really what I am aiming for. I have no idea how it looks in IE, if you are still using that retro browser then I have no doubt that the formating is screwed up.

Lot's of projects and paperwork, making a whole bunch of sites as well so you will start to see more of my web development works on here. Yes I still paint, will upload my last few images here during the week.

Will try to update more often, -_- yes I know everyone says that :D

We have created a social beast, some explanations.

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 3, 2009, 9:49 PM

With the recent set of upgrades Lightwyrm has grown into something that can be considered a full social network for digital artists.
If comparing it to other networks it would be similar to linked in in the way it handles the 'contact' list.

Unlike LinkedIn the focus here is less on networking and more on learning and sharing. What separates this from other art communities is that it is not focused on favourites and following. From the start we wanted to eliminate that, instead Lightwyrm is focused on providing a knowledge base for digital artists.
The difference?
In layman's terms there is less 'that looks nice' and more 'that looks nice because... and here is how... oh and don't forget to... and in personal experience... ' so on and so forth.

How was this accomplished?

After long consideration we decided that it is best to put two aspects of the website as the top priority, the tutorial articles and the discussion community [Forum]. The forum is there to receive direct help, immediate critique and more. While the tutorials are there to give you access to a volume of information that can be searched as you need it, be it for a project or just to get to get to know a technique. Everything else is there to help accommodate this; a robust user point system to have more users participate in day to day activities and the profile system to place valuable information about yourself.

Our hope is that this will get the artists to collaborate with each other further. Important milestones get met when you work with others. Humans are a group oriented species, we do most things better when we are together and the more we work together the greater the outcomes become.

If you agree with what we said help us out with getting this to a larger public. The more people participating the more effective this will become.
Take a look at some of the ways you can contribute in this thread
